Star Environmental, Inc. has been providing quality service since 1992.  Our main emphasis is soil evaluations and wetlands, which include soil and site evaluations, hydrology studies, wetland delineations, wetland mitigations and restorations. Gary+Starzinski

OWNER & CEO

Gary W. Starzinski

Gary is a State of Wisconsin Licensed Professional Soil Scientist, a State of Wisconsin Certified Soil Tester, a State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Professionally Assured Wetland Delineator and EAA Environmental Inspector.  He also regularly attends Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wetland trainings such as Basic and Advanced Wetland Delineations, and Critical Methods courses.

Gary is a University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point graduate with Bachelor of Science degree in Soil Science.  After graduation, he worked as a soil scientist for the United States Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Service on the National Cooperative Soil Survey, soil mapping over 200,000 acres of land in Marathon and Lincoln counties.  He has worked in the soil and environmental field since 1975, servicing both the private and commercial clients, successfully leading and participating in a variety of different environmental projects over his 45-year career. Gary started Star Environmental, Inc. in 1992 to continue bringing quality environmental service and experience to the people and businesses of Wisconsin.

WATER RESOURCE SPECIALIST & Co-Owner

Brian Camlek

Brian is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, with a major in Water Resource Management and minor in Soil Science.  After graduation, he worked as an Environmental Scientist in response to the 2010 Deepwater Horizon BP Oil Spill until completion of the project in 2012.  Since then, Brian has been employed at Star Environmental, Inc. where he has successfully participated in a variety of different environmental projects, including: wetland mitigation banks (both planning and monitoring), wetland delineations, non-metallic mine reclamation plans, pond development plans, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and soil and site evaluations for septic systems and stormwater.  

Brian regularly attends Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wetland trainings, including: Basic and Advanced Wetland Delineations, Critical Methods and Grasses, Sedges & Rushes Identification courses. He holds several certifications and licenses, which include:

  • Licensed Designer of Engineering Systems (POWTS)

  • Certified Soil Tester / Certified POWTS Inspector

  • Professional Soil Scientist

  • Licensed Pump Installer

  • Environmental Inspector

  • Wetland Delineator

Dalton_Lehman

LAND RESOURCE SPECIALIST

Dalton Lehman

Dalton is a University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point graduate, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Soil and Land Management. While in school, Dalton completed courses in soil physics, soil chemistry, soil genesis and morphology along with numerous natural resources courses pertaining to soils, hydrology and vegetation.

Dalton has been working with Star Environmental, Inc. since 2014. During his time here, Dalton has recorded onsite field data pertaining to plant identification, soil and site evaluations, and hydrology. Along with compiling field data, Dalton has generated the proper reports and paperwork associated with wetland delineations, soil and site evaluations for septic systems, stormwater and biosolid land spreading, pond development plans and wetland mitigation banks.

Dalton regularly attends Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wetland training courses such as; Basic and Advanced Wetland Delineations, Critical Methods and Hydric Soils Identification courses. He also currently holds these additional license and certifications:

  • Professional Wetland Scientist

  • Certified Soil Tester / Certified POWTS Inspector

Alex

ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST

Alex Blume

Alex graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Soil and Land Management. He has been an employee at Star Environmental, Inc. since 2019. Alex has gained experience gathering field data in soil and site evaluation and in wetland delineations. In addition to this, Alex had expert knowledge of soils series and designing POWTS septic system.

Alex continues to further his education and experience in the field by attending Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wetland training courses where he has completed training in both Basic and Advanced Wetland Delineations. He is a trained Wetland Delineator.  He also currently holds these additional license and certifications:

  • Professional Soil Scientist

  • Certified Soil Tester / Certified POWTS Inspector

  • Licensed Designer of Engineering Systems (POWTS)

  • Wetland Delineator

FISH AND WILDLIFE SPECIALIST

Isaac Barber

Isaac is a University of Wisconsin – Madison graduate, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife Ecology.  

Isaac has been working with Star Environmental, Inc. since 2021. During his time here, Isaac has recorded onsite field data pertaining to plant identification, soil and site evaluations, wetland mitigation banks and hydrology. Along with compiling field data, Isaac has generated the proper reports and paperwork associated with wetland delineations, soil and site evaluations for septic systems, stormwater and pond development plans


 
 
Lisa Lang

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, GIS SPECIALIST

Lisa L. Lang

Lisa has been with Star Environmental, Inc. for 23 years and knows our business inside and out. Lisa frequently works directly with clients on their specific project requirements to help prepare our team and make each project as efficient as possible. She has a working knowledge reading GIS maps, soil classifications, soil survey manuals, and plat books. She also evaluates aerial mapping on sites pertaining to soil and site evaluations and wetlands. Lisa has completed the proper reports and paperwork associated with soil and site evaluations for septic systems, wetland delineations, and wetland mitigation banks.  Her other responsibilities include scheduling field appointments, accounting, and maintaining workloads.
